This workshop explores the dynamics of effective feedback delivery in the context of the work environment, focusing on the needs of the manager and covering a number of typical feedback scenarios, including performance management and appraisal.
Aim:
To enable delegates to boost their skills in the delivery of feedback in the context of their work environment by practising a variety of techniques in a safe environment, with guidance and feedback from a tutor.
Objectives:
By the end of this workshop delegates will be able to:
- State the purpose of feedback and where it is use within the context of the work environment
- Identify why giving feedback might be challenging in different scenarios and apply various techniques to overcome the difficulties
- Apply a framework of constructive feedback that can be used in a number of different situations
- Display effective questioning techniques to draw out learning points
- State key considerations to be applied when planning for a feedback session
- Demonstrate body language appropriate for the delivery of effective feedback, including active listening skills
Methods:
This one day workshop will be highly participative and will include the planning, delivery and follow up of a practical feedback session.
