Executive Report Writing

Exploring appropriate styles of effective business writing, focusing on the executive report, you will learn techniques and structures to write convincingly and credibly. You will look at the purpose of the report and the needs of the reader to tailor your writing to their needs. Theoretical concepts are backed up by practical exercises throughout the workshop to develop skills and test your understanding.

To explore best practice in the writing of Executive Reports, focusing on ensuring impact and achieving the intended outcome.

- State the importance of the Executive Report in the context of their work role
- Create a framework for an Executive Report and state the purpose of each section
- Plan to write a report with impact using a range of planning tools to ensure a clear message and focus on specific requirements
- Gain immediate attention to a report through a powerful introduction
- Craft clear report objectives that follow the SMART (Specific – Measurable – Achievable – Realistic – Time bound) convention
- Create interest through focusing on specific client needs
- State the key ‘do’s’ and ‘don’ts’ of effective report writing, including final presentation
