Managing Change
If there is one constant in many UK organisations it is change. Organisations that stand still get left behind. But do those organisations that embrace change necessarily take their people with them? Change might be necessary, but it can be uncomfortable – people simply do not like change! So, how do manage people through the change process so that remain motivated and productive? This workshop explores the parameters of change management and focuses on the role of the leader as change agent.
Aim:
To enable delegates to identify and manage the human factors of change in the context of their own organisations
Objectives:
At the end of the workshop delegates will be able to:
- Identify the reasons why people react negatively to change
- Apply the Transition Curve as a means of making sense of reactions to change
- State the key requirements of the Change Agent in helping people through change
- Identify potential sources of conflict in the change process and plan to eliminate them
- Anticipate and counter typical objections to change
- Turn negativity into positive buy in to the change process
Methods:
This is a highly participative workshop utilising tutor input, practical exercises, and facilitated interactive discussion.
